To strengthen the BD Biosciences Sales & Marketing team in the Benelux, we are currently looking for a:
Account Manager BD Biosciences – Belgium
( Region mainly East & West Flanders)
The person in this role will be responsible for the sales of BD Immunocytometry and BD Pharmingen products by direct sales activities, the aim being to grow and develop the sales revenue in the territory. The focus for this person will be in selling flow cytometry instrumentation and associated reagents into the clinical and research markets (universities, biotechnology companies and hospitals). This role will report to the Country Business Leader Benelux.
To be responsible for the selling of the BD Immunocytometry and BD Pharmingen product ranges within the territory.
To ensure the growth targets for the BDB business are met on their territory within the BD IS and BD PMG product ranges through direct negotiation, sales activities in line with marketing strategies, tender response completion, attendance at exhibitions, organisation of on-site meetings/demonstrations and technical support.
To participate in sales meetings, providing up to date and accurate information about the sales territory and accurate sales forecast information.
To generate regular reports for the BD Biosciences marketing team (both local and European) communicating the trends, opportunities and threats for the organization from the market place.
To maintain accurate customer contact details, marketing attributes and opportunity management in the CRM database.
Be educated to degree level (in either Cell Biology, Haematology, Immunology or a related subject) and/or have 2-3 years practical laboratory experience, preferably in flow cytometry.
Have knowledge of subjects such as: flow cytometry, immunephenotyping, leukaemia and lymphoma diagnosis, cell biology, stem cell technology.
Good listening and communication skills.
Must be motivated to achieve individual and team sales targets.
Must be a team player supporting not only the cell analysis sales team activities but all BDB Benelux. This will also include the ability to coordinate the necessary individuals from the various functions such as Application Support, Customer Service and Technical support in order to achieve instrumentation sales.
High level of negotiation skills would be desirable.
For the right candidate, previous sales experience is not a necessity. However, if previous sales experience is not present, a strong technical background would be required. The right attitude, organizational skills, enthusiasm and results- orientation is most important.
MSc or PhD in biological science (e.g. cell biology/ immunology) an advantage.
Previous sales experience would be an advantage.
Fluent in spoken and written Dutch, French and English. Ability to work in a very structured approach and be capable of independently prioritizing and completing work.
PC Literate, skilled user of the Microsoft suite including PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to provide accurate and detailed work.
Good process management skills.
Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills.
A flexible team player with a great sense of humor.
Strong negotiation skills and also strong customer focus.
Ensure relevant input from various sources within the business.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and act when limited information is available.
