The Rapid Technology Application Support Expert EMEA is part of the Regional FSQR Analytical Chemistry CoE for FIBI and work is provided to activities in the different business of FIBI EMEA.

The Regional Rapid Technology Application Support Expert EMEA will be responsible to provide maintenance and support for the rapid technology equipment installed at locations in EMEA. This to assure stable, as effective and efficient use of the equipment and to keep the NIR platform at the highest feasible standard.

This person will support the RT Lead and RT Implementation Coordinator with the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the RTP (NIR) for EMEA

There are 3 key areas:

1)Maintain the overall platform monitoring the overall performance of the instruments and governances that are in place, update calibrations when required.

2)Provide remote support to the location key-users across all business in EMEA, which consists of trouble shooting, arranging proactive maintenance, arranging for support at locations, provide training and updated Best Practise (BP) documentation. Due to the criticality of this platform 24/7.

3)Provide remote support to the RT implementation team during installations.

The person in this position will assure that the full platform is at the best feasible performance level and that all Best Practice documents are up to date, in close cooperation with the RT implementation team and regional RT lead.

Main Tasks:


  • Assist with new implementations in the involved EMEA locations

  • Support in the execution of projects of the benchtop and inline equipment, configure and install software in remote, remote testing session for communication, develop and/or update calibrations.

  • Maintain/trouble shooting existing implementations:

  • 24/7 support towards location key-users for trouble shooting according SLA (Service level agreement).

  • Ensure Governance and monitoring program for the RTP(NIR) benchtop/Online platform EMEA (ensure guideline are up to date and executed/followed up by the locations)

  • Support during installation of RT(NIR), calibrations, validations and standardizations.

  • Lead validation prioritization.

  • Manage validation and outlier sample programs.

  • Analyse troubleshooting and sharing feedback to improve the platform.

  • Follow up the performance of existing implementations and take the corrective actions were necessary.

  • Connect with external vendors when errors are occurring or troubleshooting is needed.


  • Analyze overall performance and identify improvement opportunities

  • Report out overall performance to the different stakeholders.

  • Report out analyzed results of the monitoring program to the locations.

  • Compile full report for new implementations and follow up in collaboration with the RT implementation lead.

  • Bachelor degree (chemistry, biochemistry…)

  • min 3 y food related / science studies

  • min 2 y experience in working in laboratory environment

  • min 1 y experience with NIR

  • Basic knowledge in Analytical Chemistry

  • Detail oriented and result focused

  • Good communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) on all levels in the organization

  • Solution thinking, practical and pragmatic thinker, team player, working safe, be accurate, organizational skills in peak moments, problem solving & timely solution execution.

  • Fully skilled in Microsoft office

  • Limited travel 5-20%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master degree in (Chemistry, biochemistry…)

  • Developed knowledge, calibration experience NIR and experience with NIR implementations

  • IT related issues for problem solving

  • Software knowledge to build NIR calibration lines

  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) such as Unilab, Interspec, Report manager, Minitab…

  • Expert knowledge of Analytical Chemistry
