Shire Planner/Buyer in Lessines (Baxalta), Belgium

Guarantee continuity of supply for part numbered Auxiliary Materials in JDE including non BOM items. Ensure that supply is in line with requirements and the requested safety stock targets.

Optimized and independent Purchasing Planning, Materials Management and tracking of assigned items from Supply/Demand and Order Placement up to release of material.

Continuous monitoring/maintenance of safety stock levels, slow moving items and Inventory turn rate.

Secure information flow between supplier and internal stakeholders (Supply Chain Planning, Global Sourcing and Procurement, Supplier Quality, Receiving and Inspection) on an operational level.

Main responsibiliies :

Transactional operations:

a) Order Management and supplier relations: Based on MRP and analysis, create purchase orders (JDE materials without MRO) incl. Non-BOM items including interplant transfer orders for auxiliaries.

Coordinate/monitor deliveries and periodically monitor delivery dates - take care of order confirmation.

Check and expedite PO's and Re-work PO's if necessary. Work with Pre-sampling process, where applicable. Manage administrative, order related tasks, f.i. OC order process for return shipments (credit note), reconciliations for mismatching quantities on invoices, missing shipping documents, etc.

Constantly look for opportunities to optimize the total costs of raw materials purchased by applying EOQ or by decreasing the fees linked to related services like transportation, R&I activities.

b) Balance future capacity workload for Warehouse, Inspection and Releasing activities based on future arrivals

c) Support on decisions regarding buildup of strategic inventory (at supplier or in-house)

Process improvements ; Reporting and Analysis

a) Perform analysis/review tasks and subsequently implement corresponding/corrective actions for: MRP run messages, Safety Stock, item master data (Planner Buyer resp. related parameter), inventory level (i.e. slow movers, excess/obsolete), planning accuracy (BOM maintenance). Track release adherence performance.

b) Prepare forecasts for GSP or other analysis/data related to operational procurement.

c) Support respectively initiate process improvement initiatives for both process logic and process performance topics

d) In case of product supply shortages, develop and communicate transparent and up to date supply plans to internal stakeholders. Monitor execution of agreed plans, measure performance and solve and communicate any deviations from agreed plans. Decide on supply trade-offs in close cooperation with all Supply Chain Planning departments.

e) Implement continuous improvement projects aiming to increase the department service level or to optimize our costs.

Supplier management - life cycle:

a) Issues management: Align with local GSP department, SC site lead and internal stakeholders (SQ, R&I). Check and define impact on supply, escalation and communication to Global Sourcing and Procurement and other internal stakeholders. Actively participate & support QIT.

b) Support material qualification and validation, SNC/SCAR actions, labeling changes (phase in and out), delivery performance data input, Product Launches

c) Support or lead initiatives to increase suppliers reliability (workshops)

Administrative tasks:

a) Audit preparation and participation - responsible persons depending on audit goal / auditing organization.

b) Training for self.

Competencies :

Minimum Degree Required:

High school diploma or College for Commerce

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years professional experience in supply chain management and customer service and/or procurement; experience in Materials Management, Disposition/Planning and Cost Accounting is preferred

Outstanding business acumen as well as commercial and financial understanding

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Profound knowledge of MS Office, ERP systems (e.g. JDE) and supply chain planning tools

Language skills: English (fluent)

Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
