Job Title

Director Deal Management - Financial Modeling & Reporting

This position will report into the Vice President Business Development Finance (Europe) and will have a group of 2 professionals as direct reports.

Business Development Finance (Europe) team supports the European region sales teams in the development and execution of strategic and complex customer business agreements to defend and grow profitable market share in the region.

Role

Traditional ecosystems

The jobholder will be responsible for developing and establishing financial deal modelling standardization across International markets (€œIMK€) comprised of LAC, AP, MEA and EUROPE.

For traditional payment ecosystems (4-party model), all IMK geographies are migrating to one common financial model. This model will be utilized to prepare commercial propositions to customers, and users will range from sales individuals across the IMK (+1000) as well as deal management analysts from the Finance groups in each market.

Migrating to one common financial model has raised the need to establish a formal Center Of Expertise in Europe, responsible for governing the tool, its updates, enhancements and future developments.

The jobholder will be responsible for the supervision and management of the two individuals in charge of this European Center of Expertise. Amongst other things, the activities of the Center of Expertise will involve:

Establishing and managing the model governance (regional alignments, release management procedures, technical and end user documentation, testing procedures, model training)

Maintaining the business case model (incorporating enhancements, changes, testing)

Providing troubleshooting support to the IMK markets

Evolving the tool to the next level (today excel VBA-based)

New ecosystems

Mastercard is expanding its payment footprint beyond traditional (card-based) payment ecosystems, and as such, it is engaging with a more diverse and broader customer base, with different needs and demands. This requires the development of the appropriate financial framework to support the sales teams across Europe.

The jobholder will be responsible for establishing the process and standardization of financial modelling for non-traditional ecosystems, in close cooperation with key internal stakeholders (i.e. Mastercard Enterprise Partnership teams, European Market Development, Digital/ACH and International Markets Business Development Finance teams)

Executive management reporting and strategic projects

The jobholder will be responsible for the supervision of accurate and timely deal KPIs and deal dashboards reporting to senior management, including leading the efforts to develop tools and analysis to enhance business decision-making such as developing:

Deal performance analysis including risk identification and mitigation recommendations (in coordination with finance, regional management and IMK BDF teams);

Deal statistical & reporting tools with the objective of identifying new and/or existing trends that will support the definition of future deal policies & standards

The jobholder will also coordinate the Business Development Finance activities for monthly/quarterly financial / business forecast and reporting, and will lead ad hoc pan-European and/or global strategic initiatives aiming at streamlining/enhancing the deal process.
