Eastman Technical Service representative Textile Yarn in Zwijnaarde, Belgium
The Application Development & Technical Service Representative will be responsible for providing technical service for knitting, weaving, dyeing and finishing processes and application development support to Eastman yarn customers. The role focuses on Europe but may include supporting customers outside of Europe as well.

Develop capabilities at dyeing and finishing plants for successfully dyeing fabrics containing 100% Eastman yarns or blends of Eastman yarns with other fibers that meet customer requirements
Work closely with sales to support business objectives. Provide technical assistance to all sales representatives in assigned regions.
Use consultative skills to build effective customer relationships that the customer values.
Work closely with technology/product development to ensure that application requirements and potential processing issues are being addressed early in the development phase.
Lead application trials at targeted customers for critical stages during new product development.
Support introduction of new yarn items at customers, and assist customers on new fabric style developments.
Assist new customers in understanding the unique processing requirements of Eastman yarn; and help troubleshoot customer manufacturing issues utilizing Eastman yarn.
Analyze and test competitive yarns and fabrics and guide necessary development work in order to match/improve key properties.
Make both regular and quick-response customer visits to support job responsibilities. Provide useful and accurate feedback to our QA organization to aid in product improvement and defect elimination.
Assist in complaint investigation at the customer; work with Manufacturing and QA on analysis of yarn complaints.
Audit yarn quality in customer’s plant and report back to Eastman Technology and manufacturing/QA as appropriate.
Work with sales to evaluate new opportunities and recommend and specify material to be sampled.
Assemble, analyze and summarize internal and customer data, using proficiency in spreadsheet tools, data analysis, graphical visualization and statistics.
Provide written technical trip reports to internal stakeholders.
Serve as a subject matter expert in product and product processing.
Provide appropriate applications training for sales, manufacturing, QA personnel.
Maintain/update technical materials.
Bachelors or Masters degree in textile or textile chemical engineering is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in dyeing and finishing processes.
High level of expertise with fabric designs and constructions for performance apparels.
Experience in weaving and knitting processes is highly desired;
Demonstrated proficiency in technical trouble shooting and problem solving in the field of fabric manufacturing and textile deying and finishing processing.
The candidate must be a self-starter who develops and maintains his/her technical expertise and enjoys the interaction with customers and internal stakeholders.
Work experience in technical support and customer interface is highly desired.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
